Can't Wait to Cookout

Tick, tick, tick or a quick zip and sizzle, the end result will be the same. WOOSH! Grilling weather is here and cookout season has started. Now it is sad that we cannot share this wonderful season with our friends and family at the moment but maybe that's a good thing. A cookout is not a simple thing. There are too many components: salads, burgers, dogs, snacks, sides, and the often overlooked buns. Then there are beverages. What beer does everyone drink? How many people are going to drink soda? Should I make ice tea or lemonade, homemade or from powder?

The list can go on and on. If we are all honest with ourselves, we all have a preference and a favorite. A secret hope that one person will volunteer to make their dip that has become famous in the neighborhood. Or worse, someone will volunteer to make pasta salad and you know there is no hope that another person will bring potato salad.

So before we can all see each

other again, why not take a look at our favorites. Specifically my favorites. You can have your own opinion. I won't judge you too hard if you prefer pasta in salad form. For the next few weeks I am going to take a look at some of the northeast's cookout staples. Please keep your opinions civil and your suggestions delicious. I look forward to being able to have these conversations in person on a warm sunny day this summer.
